RHR Chow Chow has been raising and selling quality chow chow puppies for over sixteen years.  Our goal is to raise good healthy puppies and sell them for a reasonable amount, not whatever the market will bear.  I know I cannot give $1000 and up for a family pet, and I don’t know of that many people who can.  We do all we can to keep our prices down so that everyone who loves the chow chow breed can have a furball of their very own to tell them how to live their lives.  Of course, anyone who knows the Chow Chow breed knows they are not a dog for everyone.  They are stubborn, independent, arrogant, and fully expect to be treated like royalty, which they are.  If you have the personality to put up with their little quirks you will find that there is no dog like them in the world when it comes to being loving and devoted to their family. 

RHR Chow Chow is located near the small town of Ava in south central Missouri.  We ship puppies nearly everywhere in the continental United States.  All our puppies that are shipped are handled through a professional pet shipping service to ensure their proper care and safety.  We much prefer to have people come here to pick their puppy up, but realize this is just not practical for everyone.  Visitors are always welcome here, whether to buy a puppy or just to look and ask questions.  Since this is all we do, there is seldom a time when we are not available.  Whether you own one or more of our puppies or not questions are always answered to the best of my ability.  If I don’t know the answer I will do my best to steer you to someone who does know. 

My wife and I are semi-retired.  We had full intentions of being completely retired, but the dogs have become a hobby out of control and developed into what is pretty much a full time job.  Our entire lives revolve around the kennel and what is good for the dogs.  Our furkids expect us to spend nearly all our time with them and this is what we pretty much do.  All our puppies are handled on a daily basis to make them as people friendly as we possibly can.  Of course, it is up to the new owner to continue with this socialization.  The socialization of a chow chow is never completely done. 
We make no claims to fame about famous bloodlines and do not raise show dogs.  We raise family pets.  I have owned many of my dogs back as far as the great great grandparents and if you come to see a puppy you will always find the parents on the premises and often the grandparents and sometimes even great grandparents.  When a chow chow gets here they have a home for life.  No exceptions.

As for contracts to purchase one of my puppies, just let it be said that I don’t use contracts and don’t believe in them.  A contract is only as good as the people who sign it.  I am old enough that I was raised to believe that your word is your contract.  If I tell you “this is the way it is”, you can believe that this is the way it will be.  I recommend that your new puppy be spayed or neutered, but don’t feel it is my place to tell you that it has to be done.  That is like selling you a car and then telling you it can’t be taken out of the city limits.  It is not my place to tell you what you have to do with your own dog.
